The Invisible Man

He walks among us;
beside us;
between us.
Shifty and slippery,
watching her every move
with an eye that sees all.
Hidden within our senses
masked beneath the daydreams of the innocent.
Like a ghost that possesses a virgin
he infiltrates her body.
Worshipped transgressions
Forgiven infidelities
The invisible man cannot be accused of immorality
Who shall object
to an affair with the air?
He does not exist.
He is not real.
But merely a fantasy
imagined by a curious young girl
who invited the supernatural to bed.
