Sugar Plums
(An Advent drabble for nancybrown.)

He slid through the window, holding the bag close to his body. It was three: the clock chimed noisily at him.

Dana had insisted they erect the Fraser Fir the first of December, and had let Robin decorate the lower half (the half, Terry noted, that was covered in wax paper and crayon drawings). He slid the presents underneath.

The note on the mantel was addressed to Santa, the milk glass was full, and the cookies had green, red and white sprinkles, except for the dark chocolate one in the corner that had red icing.

He ate that one first.
