Wow. Today... has taught me something shocking, but valuable.
Take NOTHING for granted. Nothing. Anything can be taken from you instantly.
Fish was pretty much in tears today at lunch, and Tony was missing, which was unusual based on the last week or so. When we asked what was wrong, she explained that Tony wasn't there because he works at the Baxter Avenue Morgue around Halloween (Basically a huge haunted house for those of you not from the Ville) and he'd been screaming for 8 hours straight scaring people all weekend, then coughing up blood.
Tony tore his vocal chords.
He can barely talk, and can't make even a slight croak at singing. He may very well never sing again. Even if he can, he's almost certainly lost his amazing voice. He'll be in vocal therepy and surgery, which will help if he's lucky. And that's it. One weekend, one stupid mistake, and that's it. He's lost what he's worked at his entire life. He wanted to go to CCM. He was a lead role in Sweet Charity. None of that's possible, now. He was Tony. Fish is terrified because she thinks he contemplating suicide.
It gets you thinking. Nothing is for sure. I could eat, sleep, and breathe music every waking hour of every day and lose my voice forever in my senior year. What would I do? I think I'd be contemplating suicide, too. There's nothing else I love to do this much. Nothing else.
Then I also found out that Ben Stoll (Thernardier, the Inkeeper, from Les Mis) is in the NYC hospital, paralyzed, with a 50% chance of survival. Pnumonia. He tried so hard to get into that school. God. This is a incredibly fast world. Everything's moving all the time.
Sorry for the decent into emo-ness...
