Thanksgiving question is coming later down the line, so be prepared for it to come out randomly....I figured it was fitting considering my random nature ;)
Do you tend to forgive and forget or hold grudges? What is the longest you've ever stayed angry with someone? Is there anything the other person could say or do to win back your friendship and trust?
I'm TERRIBLE at holding grudges. Honestly the worst. My heart melts like a puddle at so much. I get taken for granted a lot because of it I am just learning to do this because I see how much I have gotten hurt. I hate playing victim, so I'm just learning not to take crap anymore. That being said I have held grudges before about twice. The one grudge I held longest has been the one I've held against my brother's ex wife for years. She broke his heart in 8 million pieces. My brother is 10 years older then I am. He dated her for years and then they were married for 8 years. So she was my best friend in the world. Loved her more then ANYONE. Then she broke my brother's heart, ran off with another man, and stopped speaking to me. We speak sporadically because she is my nephew's son. However, she has never bothered to try to apologize or explain. She has been the most hurtful person in my life that I know. She hurt me and my brother and my fear of abandonment stems from her. Yes, I still hold a grudge. She could definitely apologize from the bottom of her heart to me. We won't ever be good friends though unless she shows she truly cares and loves me. I have no faith that this will ever happen. And I've thought about writing her and letting her know. I might one day.
What about you and grudges?
