An eventful yet restful extended weekend in Massachusetts.

Erin and Mark's wedding was the best wedding ever. Instead of the typical Old Testament "your wife belongs to you and she will make you sandwiches" sort of readings, they had excerpts from The Velveteen Rabbit and some other poems.

At the age of 40, one of my cousins came out to her mother. At the wedding. :)

At the wedding, I danced more than I've danced in a long time; it felt so awesome. As Lisa told me, "I watched you shaking it on the dance floor, and it looked damn good." As a Parrish, I am blessed with excellent bad dancing skills.

There were a lot of (married!) gay couples at the wedding. I thought of a lot of people for whom I would like that sort of thing.

On Monday we went to Second Beach in Newport, RI, and although it was a gorgeous day, it was a bit too breezy for the ocean. My face is still rough from being pummeled with sand blowing everywhere.

I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3 with Melissa. Paying 10 dollars for a movie hurt. At least it was a 3-hour-long movie.

I had a nice art discussion with Uncle Tom. Normally, I don't like talking art with him because it turns into him telling me why what I do is wrong and what he does is better. It wasn't like that at all and it was very nice.

On the plane, I sat next to a smiley cute boy who talked to me some.

When I returned home, the living room was painted and many things were fixed. Yoda wasn't even ignoring me. Very good.

yoda, weddings, geekiness, awkward interactions, pussycats, family, being a dumb girl
