So THIS is why I'm an art/theater major...

Alright, so I have a neuroscience exam in two and a half hours. I've been studying for dayyyyyyys (actually, weeks) for this stupid thing.

I'm currently looking over a handout, "A Simple Molecular Biology Guide for the Neurosciences"

Let me quote you a little something from the section on Information Processing:

e) ...after their synthesis, mature mRNAs are modified at their 5’ ends with a 7-methylguanosine residue. This is called "capping”. There can be subsequent methylation of the sugars on the 1st and 2nd nucleotides of the protein. The CAP structure forms a barrier to the 5’endonucleases and thus stabilizes the mRNA, protecting it from breakdown. In addition, the 3’ end of the mRNA frequently has a group (up to 250) of “A” residues (the polyadenalyation tail). Like capping, polyA tailing protects the mRNA from degradation, in this case degradation from 3'exonucleases.

Oh gee, when you put it like, that, it's so gosh darned simple!

Also, whenever I see "tRNA," my concentration is broken because I think it's my name.

Little Jew, I might need a little tutoring after this thing... :( If you know, you're available sometimes or something. Maybe put things into a little perspective for me...

exhaustion, mindless rantings, adhd, school, books, freaking out, being a dumb girl
