Ohman. There was so much good food today. Let me see, where to start.
I guess I'll start with the eggs, since I made them. Hard boiled a dozen eggs... forgot how much I liked hard boiled eggs. Dyed them pretty colors and put them in a pretty easter basket and toted them to the place where we were gathering for supper. Ended up eating three of them. They're tasty.
Other appetizers included various sorts of cheese, bread, and crackers. Of which I had plenty.
Then, dinner. Mashed potatoes and green bean casserole (which I'm really starting to actually enjoy having), and, as the main course, turducken. I was highly skeptical of this idea at first, but oh, man. Oh MAN. These were seriously some amazing meats. All very moist and pleasant.
And then there was homemade pecan pie.
And all throughout there were board games: we played Cranium, Trivial Pursuit, and Wise or Otherwise. And there was an easter egg hunt outside.
It was splendid.
Last week for Myth section we read the Women of Trachis. I pointed out in two of my three sections how appropriate it was to read about the death of Heracles at this particular time of year. I'm not sure if they appreciated it. But I did.
