I love attending NDP :')
This year's parade was really enjoyable from start to finish. There were heartfelt tear-worthy moments. And other moments where there were just tears welling up (especially when singing along).
I remember the sweat and joy of being part of the parade. (There were special fireworks just for the performers after the parade was over because they can't see the fireworks when performing. How awesome of the organisers is that.)
It feels heartwarming to be a Singaporean.
I love the fun pack (you really don't have to bring anything other than your wallet, phone and keys.).
I love NDP songs. I love how we remember all the lyrics by heart (thanks to the years of practice in school).
I find it amusing when there's a spontaneous cheer for LKY. but I cheer along too.
I've been watching the fireworks / flag fly past / red lions / jets on Saturdays from the office. But it's so awesome to watch it at the float. The fireworks were very well integrated into the programme / performance. There were even water fountains! It was a really good parade.
It was actually not too hot with warm and cool breezes every now and then.
I wish the crowd was a little more enthusiastic. But perhaps because it's so open, it felt more muted than the national stadium and the Padang.
I love the videos and especially old footages.
I love the rainbow smoke.
Finally the ugly thing in the middle of the bay, which is the crescent and five stars and the origin of the fireworks, was quite pretty when lit up.
It was lovely to spend some 1-on-1 time with Pa.
So thankful and really really hope to be able to watch next year's parade live too!
I <3 Singapore
I really do pray for this country, the people, my home.
