You know, it's really not that hard to cook. Even if you can't do anything else, you can put lots of vegetables in a pot, add water, and boil it for about half an hour. Chances are, the result will be edible, though you may need to experiment a bit before you manage to also make it tasty. ;)

I might consider becoming a vegetarian - I'm in the process of switching to a sort of half-vegetarian diet, actually - but I refuse to be a vegan. I don't see why I should feel sorry for the milk cows, anyway. All I've ever seen a cow do is stand on a field chewing all day. They don't look like they're being exploited. They look pretty damn smug, actually. Bastards. ^_^;;

Yes, but come to the US and visit a factory farm. The ones that own thousands of cows that never see the sun or eat grass or, for that matter, get to turn around because they're stuck in a tiny pen for the whole of their short lives. I grew up on a small family-run dairy farm (less than 100 cows at a time, got plenty of sun and grass, etc.), so I'm not sympathetic about cows either, but at some point it gets horrible.

That said, I've considered being a vegan--my older sister has been one for four years, so she keeps trying to convert me--but I, like, er, juju here (Do I call her "the cornlady?" seems weird...), enjoy cheese waaayyyy too much.

Urk. Point taken. I grew up around that same kind of family-run farms, so that's where my point of reference is.

Still not becoming a vegan, though! We can damn well pass more laws against inhumane treatment of animals instead! ^_^;;;

Now that I'm at university, cheese really IS my one source of protein. Oh, and nuts! This should probably worry me... Still, once I start getting better at cooking, I'll try to cut down on the dairy! Apparently, cows cause global warming, and I wouldn't want to aid them in their dastardly plans (you know they're just trying to wipe us out and become the uncontested lords of this world. YOU CAN TELL).

You can call me whatever you want! (Though, um, 'the cornlady' does sound pretty weird.)

But cooking is so DULL. I just haven't got the patience to stare at a pot for, like, minutes, all the while KNOWING that it's probably not going to be worth the wait. So I wander off and when I return, there is pasta on my floor. I think the pasta is out to get me.

Well, I'm a vegetarian, and the more the merrier, I say!
