(no subject)
I think it is finally time to update again. Nothing has really changed sense the last time I updated. I don't think. The biggest event that has happened is that my view on the community of UNCG has been shattered. I came back to my dorm room last friday night after having a great night. The Pride! Prom was great and then I got to drink a little. So I come back to find a very interesting word written on my door. Yes I said on my DOOR. What is the word you may ask...well...it just happened to be FAG. I always thought that my campus was a very gay friendly campus and I didn't like to leave it because it was like leaving a world that excepted me and going to my house were I'm not completely excepted. This has now changed. The fact that this has never happened to me before kind of also pisses me off. I lived in Hickory. I like to call it Hicksville. Never in my life has someone called me fag or anything of the sort to my face. I'm sure they did behind my back but that doesn't matter, if they didn't have the guts to say it to my face then they don't matter to me. Then to come to college where people are supposed to be more open minded but not only just A college, to come to UNC-Gay and have this happen just infuriates me even more. And to put the cherry on top when I told my mom the first thing out of her mouth was, "Well, I guess you can expect things like that to happen." WHAT?!?! That is completely justifying what they did. Then my dad pretty much said the same thing but he seemed more concerned. I don't know I'm trying to not let it get to me and just let it slide.
In other news, I can't wait for this year to be over with. Not for the reasons most people what it to end though. I want it to end so I can start summer, get money, then come back here and start really getting in to the theatre here. I am so excited. I am taking 18 hours...yes you read right...18 hours. That may not seem a lot to some people but for me that's going over board. I am really excited, though, because I have 5 theatre classes and one education class. That means I will have my time to really get to know people in the major. I am going home this weekend for Easter. Not to excited about that but whatever. I think that's it for now. Oh yea and I'm in a play! How awesome!
