To start things off, a little more on the CTV/CBS Flashpoint tug of war. CTV held it's upfront last Thursday and announced that Flashpoint will return in the fall at 10pm on Fridays. Take that, CBS. Since CBS has already declared that Flashpoint will not be in it's fall lineup, but be held as a quick replacement for a failing new show or return in the winter, this has left many people confused and curious about what CBS will do in response to this, including the producers of Flashpoint. Given the indeniably close proximity and overlap of Canadian and American broadcasting, this is something that doesn't normally happen. So, how is this going to go down? Only time will tell. Game on.
Today, Post City Magazines released a very sweet
interview with Enrico Colantoni, in which he lays out a lot of love for his hometown of Toronto. Also, he seems to have left his Beaches residence for an apartment at Bloor & Dufferin.....really? Not exactly an area I'd expect, but I guess it's not really that far from the neighborhood he grew up in. (random thoughts from my mind)
Also, Enrico will soon appear in Weather Girl, which hits theatres in the US (and most likely Canada) in limited release in July. See the trailer and get info at the
film's website.
A cute little
blog entry from the mother of the twin baby boys who appeared on Flashpoint as the baby in episode 209 - "The Perfect Family". She describes their experience doing the show.
Funny, You Don't Look Canadian: A very interesting, and mostly accurate piece that appeared in the New York Times a couple of days ago. The discussion is on the recent surge of Canadian TV shows being broadcast in the United States, producing and shooting in Canada, and contains several quotes from the creators/producers/writers of Flashpoint. For an even more informative read, follow it up with TV writer Denis McGrath's
knowledgeable response.
And lastly, you can have a look at a
few random Flashpoint photos I've posted in my Journal, one featuring some very handsome SRU men at CTV's UpClose '09 last Thursday.
