Negotiations 32

Go back to Negotiations 31 or start from the beginning.
Hi, QAF soldiers! The next installment is finally here. It's ridiculous that it took me 5 months to write this, but it did. 2019 has been a good but tumultuous year for me and sometimes there was no time to write and sometimes there was no inspiration. I considered stopping this series because ( Read more... )

I have just finished rereading BYBR (I don’t normally do rereads) and I stumbled upon this, which you are STILL writing!! I read maintenance a long time ago so I need to go back and do a reread. You are such a talented writer, I teach Literature and part of my job is to make sure that my students know all the techniques that underpin a great piece of writing. Despite this, I can’t write which makes me so enamoured by fanfic writers of your calibre. People, who are just so committed to the ‘verse that they write for pleasure and the pleasure of others. Don’t stop!

This is a really interesting read. The characters are so far removed from where they were when the series ended, yet I can see how they are in canon. In fact, I actually prefer the more evolved versions of themselves that are presented. I also like the fact that you have allowed them to be content with one another and with growing and changing together. The fact that they don’t need the heteronormative cliches that are trotted out in a lot of other fics (even though I still love reading them). I am really enjoying the way that their relationship is evolving In this series. I like Brian as the sub, and I think that speaks to the complexity of his character and the fact that Justin has always been able to see through it. I like that they are on a journey and they don’t know where it will end, just as I don’t.

Thanks again. Keep writing because you are amazingly talented.

xx

Ps is there any chance that you will consider posting to A03 or somewhere that we can download as an ereader. This story needs to be kept on my ‘shelf’. I also understand that it is probably a lot of extra work!

Hi. Thanks so much for this feedback, for taking the time to let me know. It makes me happy to know that people are on the journey and it makes me want to write, write, write. I have thought about putting this on AO3.. I forget about the e-reader thing, but that's definitely something to consider and make a goal for this year.
