First officer's Log Stardate, I do not know. The slingshot effect of breaking the gravitational pull of Nero's Black Hole has thrown me from my time line. The ship's computer is unable to calculate the proper date, and at this time its systems are fully occupied with keeping the ship moving toward Earth and maintaining hull integrity. There is insufficient fuel for me to have an easy landing, and the odds are that I will burn up in the atmosphere. My only other option is to attempt to beam down to the surface while my ship meets its doom.
Being trapped in the past, in an unknown reality presents many fascinating problems. It would logically be better for me to die before I can disrupt the time line of this Earth, but that would lead to failure in my mission. Once I am on the surface, I may be able to find a way back to my time if not transport back to Vulcan. I am after all in the past where Vulcan still exists.
"Shields at 10%," the ship's computer informed me although I was already aware of the situation. Grabbing a tricorder and communicator, I quickly programmed the transporter to send me down to the surface. A phaser was an option, and I might miss one should I arrive in a hostile environment, but a weapon from the future would cause too many ripples in the time stream.
"Energize!" I told the computer. While I dematerialized I watched the red glow of my shuttle burning up.
