Although Mohinder had been working on the main teleporter for weeks now, it was still not fixed. As was witnessed, it could not only pull people from other dimensions and timelines into the base, it could also accidentally pull them into random parts of the city. After that last mishap, the machine was modified to give an alert with the general location of where the new visitor arrived in the nearby area. Tonight that upgrade would be tested and a couple of agents would be sent out to investigate…
It was just another ordinary, boring night for Vampire Mohinder - cruising the upscale clubs of New York for his next meal. He had become a regular among these places, so there were always his usual groupies hanging around. After arriving, it wouldn’t be long before he was approached by a few of them; men and women, eager to let him drink from them. They would even offer money. Blood and money offered up on a silver platter. There was no challenge to this anymore. Not to mention, most of them were annoying as hell or else they would try to put their unwelcomed hands all over him. Luckily, his glamour ability could take care of those things by shutting them up and making them sit still while he drank.
The virus outbreak had long been taken care of, so now there was nothing exciting left to do but eat, drink, and be a vigilante. Sadly, street thugs weren’t a challenge either. Even the white collar undercover schemes were getting boring. It didn’t help matters that most of his memories were gone as well. He didn’t know if he had family out there or what. Surely something exciting had to happen soon? Surely eternity wasn’t going to be this boring forever?
Sighing, he looked over at the entrance of the club and all the superficial morons lined up in front, waiting to get in. After straightening his semiformal black vest and leather jacket and making sure his curls were behaving, he began heading over, walking straight past the line of people and bouncers to the main door. As he went through it, there was a sudden flash of white light. Hm? Probably was just someone’s flash on their camera. Thinking nothing of it, he continued to the bar and sat down to wait…
And wait…
And wait…
What the hell? Scanning the room, he couldn’t see anyone he recognized. This was weird. Usually his dinner would have already arrived by now and be fawning all over him. Actually, this place looked a little different than usual. Did they redecorate? Either way, he was getting hungry. So giving up on this particular club, he headed out the side door, hoping he might find a gang member breaking the law along the way that he could munch on. Even though he passed right in front of Elle and Niki on his way out, he had no memory of them at the moment.
Once outside, he heard a suspicious noise and quickly hid to observe. Having no idea that he was now in a different dimension or that another vampire, a savage one that was currently feeding in the same alleyway, had also been teleported there at the same time, he had no clue of what to expect. And he really didn’t count on seeing two innocent-looking blondes appear from the door he had just came through either. What were they thinking? It could have been dangerous out there. For the moment, he remained silent, watching and ready for action.
