I have absolutely zero idea what this episode looked like to a casual viewer, but as a fan, it paid off big time.

I watched this episode last night by myself and LOVED IT, thought it was one of the best of the season, but I rewatched it with my mom today, and even when I paused and explained the backstory on the Jeff/Annie montage, she was kind of meh on it. So it probably didn't go over so well with the general audience, but it really was like a gift for the fandom.

I'm with you, I don't ship anything seriously on this show, so I enjoyed it all. Though I do lean a little more toward Jeff/Annie than Jeff/Britta. But I thought they sort of countered the gentle mocking by having Abed point out that there IS something between Jeff and Annie, so it's not all just the inventions of over invested fangirls. Anyway really I watch this show mostly for Troy, and as always he delivered.

ah this is kind of what I was afraid of. Because it was an amazing episode for the fandom, but I don't want the show to turn off casual viewers either. I want a season foooooour and Community can't afford to lose any of the audience. :(

If I had to choose, I would probably ship Jeff/Britta (lol are we obligated to have a ship war now?), but I like Jeff/Annie too and I agree that Abed's comment took any of the sting out of it. I've seen some shippers get pretty upset about the vid parody though. :/ oh well. THE EP WAS AWESOME, THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS.
