So I'm typing up more thoughts on SPN and The Real Ghostbusters and I've been browsing around for episode reactions, and I found something that made me headdesk.
So an issue that a lot of people seem to be having is that the fandom wasn't properly represented because the convention was mostly male. I don't particularly find this to be an issue for reasons that I'll talk about in my later post tomorrow (even though I wouldn't have said no to there being some awesome fangirls), but I found a person that explained away the discrepancy as , paraphrased:
In the tv show, the Supernatural fandom is based on a book series. Since girls don't read sci-fi books, of course there would be mostly guys at a convention about it.
O RLY NOW?
