Is that a real mini-octopus, or a jewelry one made out of some sort of semi-precious stone? It really looks like the latter, but the fact that it's in a handful of sand and seawater suggests the former.

it's a real mini octo. i found tons of other mini octo photos on google images. all hail the tiny octopod!

unfortunately i know as much as you do. seems tiny octopi are somewhat common, at least on the interwebs. this photo was just pasted at me from two different sources, neither of whom knew where it originated.
