I had to interview a local teacher currently in the system for a class project, and I just re-read her interview transcript and came across this:
"How do you and your peers work on providing a positive learning environment?"
"Our district and school have set up a period in the workday called “collaboration.” Teachers in similar disciplines have collaboration period together - a time when they can meet and discuss department issues, focus on solving student problems, vent to each other about our day, and be supportive to each other. We work on prep for art shows, lesson planning, ordering supplies, and coming up with ideas for organization. We also devote a lot of time after school working together on things, running ideas across to others to make sure we’re on the right track, and plan for student learning. We are constantly texting, emailing, and calling each other when we feel insecure or don’t know what to do, or want to express a great idea. The collaboration between our department of three teachers is awesome - we work well together which makes our learning environment more positive and more open."
I've had a really rough month, and not having the support of the people I'm close to to reassure me and comfort me when I feel unsure or upset would have been devastating. Being with your kids in the future, I'm sure, will be a spectacular treat you could never replace. However, there will be a whole new batch of children next year who will need a beautiful teacher to help them bury their fears, and learn how to be encouraging.
You are inspiring. Every day. And I can bet that you're inspiring to everyone who walks into your classroom. Your decision is yours to make, and I know you'll make the best one for you <3

This, I guess, was just my two cents =]
