So, I found a big cardboard document holder envelope downstairs. You know, the kind used to mail documents without folding or damaging them?
Apparently, the courier had come while I wasn't paying attention, but it's a small town and everyone's doors are unlocked so they just opened the door and dropped it on the table next to the door. Fine by me, saves me a trip to the post office.
I figured it was my birth certificate, since I had recently requested a certified copy, and it was from the Ontario Registrar's Office. I tear open the strip on the back and look inside... there's nothing in there except a normal letter-sized envelope.
Inside of that is the birth certificate... folded, four times.
Bonus: Also inside the envelope is a letter, completely blank except for my address. The envelope had a window on it, so this was how they addressed it, except that it was rendered moot by putting the envelope in a page-sized cardboard document mailer.
