I am in need of a new job.
So let's assess my job situation: I started two days after Thanksgiving last year, so I've been there for about 5 1/2 months. In that time, there have been 4 incidents necessitating a call to 911. And I have been there for 3 of them. First was a slip-and-fall by my GM, who cracked his skull open (I was the only one calm for this one). A few weeks later I drove by the store and saw ambulances, and found out another manager had a heart attack (she then discovered she has diabetes and is doing NOTHING about it). A few weeks ago we were robbed at gunpoint, and last night it happened again. It could very well have been the same guy.
Assessment: I need a new job. Even setting aside the "a trained monkey could do my job, yet the employees are consistently told they're not doing well enough", I need a job that I'm not afraid to go to. I'm already at the point where I don't think I could be at the front register after dark.
