Short, spoiler-free version: Squee!

So, umm, well... fucking wow! Now that's the ballsy show we've all come to love to snark at and with. =) "Best of Show" hat, indeed.

Notes from fandom with too much time: yes, the Cottages will be back. Some of the actors' contracts terms are still in negotiations, but that happens this time of year, if you don't ( Read more... )

An OBE award isn't a knighthood, so Mr. Laurie isn't entitled to any titles. (Pun not intended but amusing nonetheless.) Knights bachelor have the KBE abbreviation and knights grand cross are KGC, I think.

To clarify further, and help you with your 19th-century novel-reading (which I know you do, right?):
Knights and dames are titled Sir/Dame FirstName.
Baronets are titled Sir LastName.

I didn't watch the episode, so I can't comment on it. I watched a rerun of Veronica Mars, because I am a glutton for punishment.

Ack -- true, true! My mistake, hell I'm probably lucky I was even in the neighborhood. *lol* Thanks ( ... )

My reading skills are highly variable. Sometimes I can read long books w/o a problem; other times I have what you described and can only concentrate for a few paragraphs. I find I can read magazines or the internet better than books when I have a short attention span, since the former are broken into short passages of text.

Seasons 1 & 2 of VM are available on DVD. The third season is available on iTunes and the CW website. The library might have the DVDs - some fans had a DVD drive to donate sets to libraries in the 50 largest Nielsen markets in order to hook new fans.

I'm hoping to be able to read books again soon -- right now I can only read books that I already *know*: Imagica, Inherit the Wind, Story of O, you know... the classics. =)

Cool, cool -- a friend let me borrow a few seasons of Nip/Tuck, but it looks like then it's off to the library, or something!

I just reread a book because I read the subsequent book in the series and found a remembered nothing of the one that came immediately before. I thought maybe I'd simply missed it, as happens with series that aren't highly publicized, but it turns out I /own/ the book. It's copyrighted 1999, about 3 years before I got sick, and it was obviously bought new - no clue why I couldn't remember anything from it but remember the rest of the series reasonably well.

Taking gingko biloba helps somewhat with my ability to focus, but much of it depends on the quality of the sleep I've gotten.

Ouch -- I can empathize with that! I think I'm ready to start trying again, now that my ego is a little more stable. There's really only so much "can't" I can take at any given point in time, ya' know?

I'm starting supplements again next week, since I'm not worried about getting a clear diagnostic view right now, so I think ginko will be in there!
