Superman Comics Recs List #1 (1-10)

Several of my Twitter/LJ friends have asked me to give them a recs list of Superman comics, bonus if they have great Clark/Lois interactions.  I started making this list and writing why I love them in particular, but then the list went on and on and I haven't even gotten to my Superman/Batman recs.  So this will be a series of recs, bear with me.

You're very welcome. I'm glad this list was helpful. I am working on an 11-20 list, but several of the ones I want to include I have to re-read so I can give a proper description and evaluation (i.e. All Star Superman, Red Son, etc.)

Yes, Man of Steel did surprise me with how much of it Smallville adapted, but it helps my case that Smallville is actually drawing from canon and not just winging it 100% of the time, but I've already made a case of that on Twitter that since none of Superman's canons (Golden, Silver, Post-Crisis, Modern) are 100% the same, then Smallville shouldn't be considered an AU just because it's not just like the comics...because the comics aren't just like the comics either.

I agree that Smallville's Lois has completely endeared the character to me in a way that no other version has (not even LnC, which was the first time I liked the character ever) before. But I have to give Byrne credit for taking the character in a different direction, esp in regard to her relationship to Clark. That was something that hadn't been done before and it has to do with the way he wrote Clark as not the bubbling clod, but as simply a mild-mannered character, but very much the "real" persona.

I absolutely WANT a post-Smallville comic (and would LOVE if BQM wrote it). I think they would be dumb not to start a Metropolis series in the same vein that Joss Whedon started Buffy Season 8 and Angel: After the Fall. There is a market, especially with so many ppl crying for a Metropolis TV Series, so why not do it in comic form. It makes the most sense money-wise. You have the fanbase, and you will no doubt bring in a demographic of people that have never read a comic before into the stores and possibly get them interested in other comics (especially looking for the books with characters that have guest starred on Smallville). I should submit this to DC and get a petition up, huh?
