Multi-Fandom Recs (Fics + Vids)
I haven't recced anything in a while, but I've been reliving my original favorite fandom, and dwelling in the two I'm most emphatic about these days. It's just great that there's SOMETHING keeping me busy during this long-ass hiatus.
Umbrella (vid) | Fandom: Angel | Artist: Rihanna | Vid by lightsallfading | Characters/Pairing: Angel/Cordy/Wes/Gunn Friendship
This vid is just everything I loved about Angel, especially in Season 1 and 2. The friendship/family dynamic between the four of them was IMO believable and natural...in a show about a supernatural fighting detective agency, anyway. But this vid flows well together, the choice of clips (with one exception...it just bothers me when a clip that has a credit on it is used, no matter how hilarious the original scene was) were placed in a nicely thought out sequence, and it just makes me smile to see everyone alive and happy.

I can't help it, I loved Cordy and Angel's friendship, and when it blossomed into love, it felt natural and not at all as if it came out of nowhere. I don't know who sings this song and the vidder didn't say who it was, but whatever, this was a really good vid that could've been completely awesome. Once again, the timing in this vid is really good...there's that one damn clip with the credit in it again, but I'll get over it. I was almost surprised by how many instances of Angel and Cordy kissing in the series there were, even if only one of them really counted, lol. But you can see in these clips how much they meant to each other as friends and as "something more that they NEVER SAID OUT LOUD YOU BASTARDS".
Drastically Redefining Protocol (fic) | Fandom: Merlin | Writer: rageprufrock | Characters/Pairing: Arthur/Merlin | Summary: In which Prince Arthur meets Merlin and all hell breaks lose.
Utterly delightful!!! I happen to really love modern day AUs in this fandom because a lot of the time they really work well. This is just an awesome feel-good story, the alternating points of view between the boys isn't jarring in the least and I think I'm going to read it again because just now as I'm typing this I'm remembering how much I enjoyed this story.

The editing in this vid is so awesome and the clips are perfect for this story. Please at least watch the trailer because it just may make you want to read the story if you haven't already.
Where the Lightening Strikes (fic) | Fandom: DCU | Writer: mithen (jij) | Characters/Pairing: Clark/Bruce | Summary: While double-checking Fortress security, Batman hacks into Clark's diaries.
Yeah like I was going to do a rec list without my OTP. I love jen. I love the way she writes the boys. I love the way she can take Bruce's more obsessive/stalker qualities and make them seem SO SWEET AND ROMANTIC! I love the way she writes Clark through Bruce's eyes so that he seems like a nuisance and the love of Bruce's life all at the same time. I've already read this twice (I love that I can read fic on my iPod!!!) and I suggest you guys get on it and go ahead an lurk through her LJ and read her other awesome stories.

By far one of the best Clois vids I've ever seen. Period. Do I have to go into how wonderful a vidder talitha is? I didn't think so. Plus, she inadvertently introduced me to a song that I want to download and put on my Clois playlist.
