Ah ha.

I feel guilty about not focusing completely on school because my parents raised me to only do one thing at a time. They didn't think that I was capable of handling extras, so I was forced to quit marching band junior year of high school so I could focus on academics and study for the SAT. Even now, my dad hints that I don't ever need to call him because he wants me to focus on school. He constantly reminds me that I need to study hard, study hard, study hard.

What is clear now is that I have a lot of bandwidth to work with. I have so much evidence that shows that I can be successful in so many different areas all at the same time. I don't need to let my parents define reality anymore. I've outgrown them.

So maybe that'll help decrease some of the anxiety I feel before exams.
