Cassie's Take on Sweet Prince Douglas Booth for Jace
Here is what Clare had to say regarding Douglas:
1) Of all the actors suggested, and that SG has seen, he’s the closest in actual age to Jace.
2) He’s beautiful. Jace is supposed to be *beautiful*, *in the manner of someone with angelic parentage*, not musclebound or square-jawed or beefcakey. Jace is repeatedly described as muscular but lean. Much like Douglas is in this shirtless picture.
3) He projects excellent charisma on film. You are judging off still pictures. That is one of the *worst* ways to figure out if someone is right for a role. There is such a thing as actorly charisma. It can make unattractive people into sex symbols and beautiful people repulsive. Acting
matters.
4) For someone who is so beautiful (he used to model in the same Burberry campain as Alex Pettyfer) he also projects vulnerability, which is important for Jace, and not that easy to do. Pinup looks can actually work against you. In that vein, while he is beautiful, it’s in an unusual way, rather than looking like he came out of a Zac Efron cute boy cloning machine.
5) He’s the right height to play Jace as well as the right build.
