i've gone a bit ... peculiar [ATTN: KARKAT]

No luck, no luck.

The Apartment

He hadn't returned to the grocery store after the unpleasantness. This was partly because Rena, that hott chick who just happened to be from the same reality planet city as him, had informed him of the BIG GREEN ORC who ran the place. After helping trash the store a week or so previously, Tyler was not yet overly willing to face up to his crimes to something that could potentially break his skull with a flick. Especially not in this state.

Someday he'd try to make peace, but for now his days were full of shaking, swearing, sweating, itchy restless discomfort and general other badness. He had not found the appropriate brain pills yet and he could feel his quality of life turning more and more to shit as the days dragged on and on, pulling him deeper into withdrawal.

He'd long since stopped trying to socialize with the city's other inhabitants. He'd try to sleep, but sleep was fleeting and dreams were disturbing. The TV, movies, even his beloved video games - these things all served merely to irritate him with confusing words and noises and annoying plots and bright lights. All he wanted to do was sit down and watch something he'd picked up during his initial days in the City - a movie from some completely alien reality that looked bizarrely interesting - but all he NEEDED to do was itch, punch things and /wrist.

And it was going to get worse.

He knew he had to keep searching or risk losing his mind and drowning himself in the tub.

you will be reborn, something in the back of his mind whispered.

Instead of wondering why he'd think something like that and exploring the strange idea further, he promptly ignored it and went back to his main thought.

PILLS. AND THE WHERE TO FIND THEM. COME ON. THINK.

He glanced from his apartment window out over the city. There was one place in particular that he had been warned away from, but by now it was the only area left unsearched. Perhaps they have a cosy little drugstore out there in Silent Hill. If so, he had to continue the search.

Silent Hill

Tyler glanced around anxiously in the fog. It was vaguely annoying, but he could pick out his path quite well thanks to really awesome inhumanly good vision. However, the deeper into Silent Hill he traveled, the worse it got.. until finally it was impossibly thick, surrounding, submerging him. He found that if he pushed his whole body weight into it, he could continue to move. So he did, and continued in this way.

Just his mind playing tricks, he tried to tell himself.

dont blame this on me asshole, whispered that small thing at the back of his mind again.

Ignoring. Pushing on.

"OH PLEASE GOD GET HIM RESCUE HIM OH MY GOD MY POOR BABY"

Tyler spun around as though he'd been punched. The screaming quickly degenerated into horrific wailings and continued ad nauseam, but it was no use shouting back or trying to cover his ears. He was sure it couldn't be her, and yet it sounded too much like her, and back there, lurking menacingly behind billions of airborne water particles.. dark figures.

"Hey, uh, you-- what"

Fear. He stumbled backwards, tripping over his own feet. The figures moved slowly, but nonetheless they were moving towards him, and not in a friendly way. He turned, ran to the end of the street, turned a corner, stopped in his tracks. His surroundings were still more or less the crumbled husks of old buildings, but they now seemed to take on a kind of desolate, rocky, windswept look.

Handwriting dripping in blood had began to appear on the eroded and corroded surfaces.

HE'S INSANE OUR LITTLE BOY'S GONE INSANE

THIS AINT HOME DAMMIT

YOU REALLY ARE JUST A SPINELESS LITTLE FAGGOT AREN'T YOU BABE?

MONSTER

LET ME GO

SPILL ON AISLE FIVE

YOU WILL BE REBORN

And a figure on the ground some distance away, obscured by fog. It was small, approximately child-sized, and lay deathly still. He ran. The direction didn't matter.

It was in this way that the being known as Tyler Frost succumbed to Silent Hill.

OR WAS IT.
