Yes, I'm familiar with it. It's just difficult to be reconciled with the idea of a skill that has no immediately perceptible, concrete effects or uses. I'd like something to point to and say "look, I can do this now!"
But I'm trying to just wait and not stress too much about it. And also do concrete things :p

Another friend has recommended those tutorials also... I need to take another look this summer when I have time :)
I like to think that serving has had some positive effects on me. I think it must have. It certainly makes conversation with strangers less daunting, so that's something.
I solace myself with the hope that I have basically up til the time I die to work on writing. It's a skill that I think has a slow, rising peak. Or several.
