My favorite baseball player is Toronto Blue Jays catcher Gregg Zaun* because:
1) With Kyle Farnsworth, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Toynbee, birthday the same as mine
2) He seems like a total dude who can 'hook you up'
3) Zaun sounds like Zod, the villain from Superman II
4) 'Switch hitting' 'catcher' that 'hits' leftys well
5) He looks like he should be working at a gas station
But now I have another, more personal reason:
Zaun on burgers:
"...The patty's got to be good sized, a good thickness. You go too thick, it becomes like a back yard burger, more like a ball of meat. So, a couple of half pound patties, Thousand Islands dressing, lettuce, tomato, onion. I don't like sesame seed buns, so just a regular old bun, but the buns got to bee the right size for the patty. Medium, I mean a little bit of pink in there but not to the point where's it's soft."
He also is a big William Shatner fan, calling him the one-time 'coolest guy on the planet'. There is almost nothing I don't like about him, except maybe his devotion to Rush, which really, looking at him, is quite obvious:
"Right now, this year, I’m listening to a lot of Rush and Jefferson Starship/Airplane old stuff. I met (Rush’s) Geddy Lee the other night. We were over at Barberian’s Steak House and he was having dinner with Randy Johnson and I’d told the waiter how much of a fan I was and, sure enough, here he comes. I’d been trying to get his attention for two years. I’ve been waving at him. He sits behind home plate a lot."
*Note: my fantasy baseball team is called 'the Gregg Zaun experience'
