My decision...

I sick of feeling like everything is surreal...

I did research, and found out that the drug I am taking (Effexor) is known for the exact things I am feeling.

Common Side Effects:

* Nausea
* Headache
* Apathy
* Constipation
* Ongoing Irritable Bowel Syndrome
* Dizziness
* Fatigue
* Insomnia
* Vertigo
* Dry mouth
* Sexual dysfunction
* Sweating
* Vivid dreams
* Impulsive Actions
* Increased blood pressure
* Decreased Appetite
* Electric shock-like sensations also called "Brain zaps"
* Increased anxiety at the start of treatment
* Akathisia (Agitation)
* Memory Loss

I have lived thru almost all of those... more specifically the occasional Apathy(except for my love) and Confusion/Dizziness and Memory Loss.

Less Common Side Effects
* Cardiac arrhythmia
* Increased serum cholesterol
* Gas or stomach pain
* Abnormal vision
* Nervousness, agitation or increased anxiety
* Panic Attacks
* Depressed feelings
* Suicidal thoughts
* Confusion
* Neuroleptic malignant syndrome
* Loss of appetite
* Tremor
* Drowsiness
* Allergic skin reactions
* External bleeding
* Serious bone marrow damage (thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis)
* Hepatitis
* Pancreatitis
* Seizure
* Tardive dyskinesia
* Difficulty swallowing
* Psychosis
* Hair Loss
* Hostility
* Activation of mania/hypomania.
* Weight Loss (of concern when treating patients suffering from anorexia nervosa)
* Weight gain (effect not clear, but of concern when treating people who may have Body Dysmorphic Disorder).
* Homicidal Thoughts
* Aggression
* Depersonalization
* Visual Hallucinations
* Swollen and/or bleeding gums

My heart beats rather fast and sometimes irregular but it's hard to tell sometimes, slight weight gain has occured, Confusion, slight Depersonalization, A lot of Drowsiness have all been felt among other things...

So to secure a better feeling body for the future, I need to come off. It has taken sometime people months to come off Effexor, due to these common withdrawal symptoms

agitation, anorexia, anxiety, confusion, coordination impaired, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, dysphoric mood, fasciculation, fatigue, headaches, hypomania, insomnia, nausea, nervousness, nightmares, sensory disturbances (including shock-like electrical sensations), somnolence, sweating, tremor, vertigo, and vomiting.

But it looks like if I take prozac, it has a good half life, so that I can come off effexor easily, and then prozac has little to no withdrawal problems.

So I see my doctor tuesday, and I am going to tell him I want off. And I get to go thru junkie like withdrawals.
