-- I have found a rare chance to distract the typist from her regular duties to take note of me again, how terribly fortunate!

I have had a most delightful time in finding myself employed as a sitter for the M and M King's son. The child is a quite a dear despite his perchance to drooling often and flailing his stuffed toys around the room and shrieking until I give them back to him. M. King has been most kind in supplying me with tea as payment for my employment - a chance I could not pass by, now could I? One must have tea at hand at all times, especially a singer, for a cold draft can be so very unpleasant to the throat and tea does such wonders for such a problem! I am grateful for such an opportunity for a means of employment that does not tax too much, nor that requires me to stray far from my lodgings.

I have at present, taken up abode in one of the mansion's rooms out of the way from the limelight of major events for a time of reflection. So very much has happened - my typist informs me that it has nearly been a year since I came to this place! I can hardly believe such a thing - seventeen more days and it shall have been a year. How very queer that time should pass so quickly.
