Irony is the place where the lyrics fall off the beat

Got stuck at work late tonight. Um. Last night. I might not bother going to sleep before I go back to work; I've only got three hours left to wait. We're heading into the busy season which means my closing shifts will run later and later as we prance towards summer and the new year. This means more money. Money good.

The Rock DJ has a song stuck in his head. This means that the song is now stuck in my head, too.

See, I got home sometime after 11pm with a roast chickie for dinner, and played some Magic: the Gathering with the Rock DJ (+1 intense geekery), and he may have spent a lot of time 'boogieing on down', 'shaking his thang' and singing, "I don't feel like dancing, no sir, no dancing today."

I hadn't heard the song before but you can be damn sure I have now. And it will never leave my head. Which just leads to me wasting the entire night going through his music collection on the home network, raiding all the new stuff, and, dammit, I should sleep or at least be semi-productive. And I've just found this cute mix of "I'm so horny" with "Bohemian like you". Haha.

On the bright side, this is definitely not 'the music we tighten up to'. So, three cheers for getting that out of my head. But some of these are appalling. I feel like my ears are watching a trainwreck. And dancing.

If I count it as being Sunday now, since it is two in the morning, then Fractal's birthday is 'tomorrow' (Monday). I have Plans (TM) for her present, but it requires me to be motivated enough to go to a fabric shop after work tomorrow and I really don't know if I can be bothered. Hmm. Monday is a public holiday and I'm not going to see her, so realistically I don't have to deal with it until Tuesday morning (I will drop it to her at work on Tuesday evening), but that just feels like cheating.

I've managed to waste nearly an hour here now, listening to tacky music, and I think I should take a wee nap before going back to work. I just have to listen to the dancing song again, first...

...

*sheepish*
