I voted for the first time today, and am a happy electoral panda.
But before I did that, I went to JoAnne Fabrics and purchased white vinyl for Emma Frost [since it was on clearance, although I don't plan on doing that costume until Emerald City Comicon], green felt for my Switzerland coat, and the fabric for my U.K. coat and Switzerland/U.K. pants.
I then went to Gene Jaurez to get my hair done. I got lowlights in it to blend my natural color in and make it look more natural.
I stopped by the library to pick up the CDs I had on hold: the Team America soundtrack and Urinetown cast recording. Now I can play America, Fuck Yeah whenever chaoticvein is in my immediate proximity.
While watching election coverage, I made the Switzerland/U.K. pants. I'm using the same pair for both costumes, just stuffing the legs when cosplaying Switzerland to give them the crazy Patton look. It was really quick and easy to make them since I just used my pre-existing custom fit trouser draft. Which means that the waistband is just below my ribcage, which makes me lulz, but I left it that way since it's probably more historically accurate. I'll start working on the U.K. jacket either tomorrow or later this week. I'm strongly considering wearing that to November's Gasukan. I had previously said that I intended to cosplay Deitrich von Lohengrin, but that would require working my ass off on the embroidery and tedious things like that.
I've decided not to go to Aki-Con this weekend. I would rather spend my munies on cosplay shit than the hotel room, especially since I don't have a job and have already gone to two cons in the past couple months.
I want to make my puppy cosplay Bolt from the upcoming Disney movie.
