This week has been pretty interesting. In a good way, mostly. A couple people have been posting about how they seem to have been less fortunate in that regard, which makes me all sympathetic for them.
Wednesday was odd for me. I had my Early History of Fashion class that afternoon. Between having the first history course since I started college, reading The Historian, and being introduced to Axis Powers Hetalia all within a brief period of time, I can safely say that my History!faggotry is back in full swing. Because if there's one thing that I've been as much of a 'tard over as vampires for most of my life, it's history. After class, I took a different route to the bus stop than usual to see if the Army Surplus Store I saw before was still where I thought it was [although I decided not to actually take the time to go inside until the next day]. The walk was oddly surreal. Although I knew exactly where I was going, I had only actually walked that way once before, and it had been heading in the opposite direction when led by a classmate back in Winter quarter. It was a weird feeling to know exactly where I was, only blocks from where I've spent countless hours all year, and to be seeing a place that seemed completely new and unfamiliar to me at the same time.
The next day I wore my Deitrich wig to school just because I liek it. I kept having to tell people that it was a wig when they were like "OMG, you cut and dyed your hair! It looks really cute like that!" I'm half tempted to actually cut my hair that short, but I fear that it would tamper with my Sampson-like powers. I went to a fabric sale at school after class. The selection was pretty crappy [lots of costume satin and tulle and weird shit from someone's reject bin], although I managed to find a couple small things. I finally picked up all my patterndrafting stuff from last quarter so I can get to making new Mello pants. I actually looked around inside the Army Surplus Store afterward. The prices are pretty decent there, but it would still probably be cheaper to hunt thrift stores or just make stuff myself when it comes to pants, jackets, shirts, etc. I'll likely be going there for accesories and props though. I ended up getting home really late, not just because of my after-school activities, but because my bus was sitting still in traffic for like two hours due to a major traffic accident that shut down I-5 South.
On Friday I went to my morning class in my lolita!Allen outfit. I refer to that class as the Dorking Around In Photoshop class. While I am learning some tricks that I didn't know before, I'm still really advanced for the class. I ended up making a Hetalia header for one of my assignments. I'm taking graphics requests now so I have stuff to do when I'm stuck in that class for four hours [and for just wasting time at home].
I then came home, cleaned the house a bit, changed costumes, and headed up to the Sakura-Con Halloween party with my mom and sister. I wanted to be flouncy, so I was Sister Kate Scott from Trinity Blood, which was just my Esther costume but with my Mello cross, blonde hair and a mole drawn on, lolol. I won best costume overall, which got me a Sakura-Con shirt, patch, and the first volume of Drama-Con. I discovered that I pwn at bobbing for apples.
Cyrus posted some photos. Michi [
hazel_secrets], Bonnie, Cyrus [
m_cyrus_weiss], Yuki and I went to Denny's afterward, then to my house for super special awesome slumber party tiemz. We watched horror movies until 5am and fantarded over Hetalia. The next day we sat around at my house until 4pm, which included watching The Producers. Then we went to a thrift store, the mall, Starbucks, and finally dropped Yuki, Michi and Bonnie off. Cyrus spent the night at my place again so she didn't have to drive all the way back to Bellingham. We raided QFC and then watched more movies, Hetalia videos on YouTube, and the Springtime for Hitler scene from The Producers three times in a row just to fawn over Ludwig [AKA Germany-tan, AKA the lead tenor, AKA the most German German who ever German-ed].
Edit: AHAHAHAHAHAHA, I JUST REALIZED THAT CANADA'S NAME IS MATTHEW AND HE'S A REDHEAD [kind of] AND HE WEARS GOGGLES AND A BEIGE COAT WITH FLUFFY TRIM.
