Costume Progress

Yesterday I got my hair dyed blonde and cut. Getting the red out of my hair was especially difficult since I've been box dying it auburn red [it's naturally strawberry blonde] for two and a half years. Most people didn't expect the stylist at Gene Juarez to get it as blonde as I wanted it in one try, but she succeeded. She had to cut like five inches off my hair in the process. My family says it doesn't look much shorter, but it feels like it is. It took four and a half hours to get my hair done.

I originally had decided to dye my hair blonde for cosplaying Jasdero, but then I realized that I already had practically the same hair style as Halle Lidner, so I decided to cosplay her too since she's one of the many underappreciated characters from Death Note.

Today I went to Aki Matsuri up at the Belleview Community College to hand out at the Sakuracon booth. I gave my Allen Walker [chapter 159] costume a test run, which turned out to be lulzier than I anticipated because there were a bunch of people in yukata and I was like "OMGAKUMA. =O" I was annoyed that they were sold out of like half the food items, and discovered the joy of canned green tea, which is way better than the Lipton crap. I intend to get a case of it at H-Mart tomorrow [and continue my search for Pumpkin Pocky in the process]. My mom and sister went with me, and my sister cosplayed Misa. Her outfit was pretty decent for a closet cosplay, but I still intend to make her the manga cover outfit. They had big papers up on a wall for people to write haikus on, and people had started writing random Death Note quotes on one of them, so Audrey and I had to counter them wit ha haiku about how quotes aren't haikus, even if they're from Death Note [sadly, I can't remember all of it at the moment].

On the way home, we stopped at Baja Fresh, so I ran over to Sweet Kitty after ordering because I felt the need to purchase posters of Mello and Lavi. And I just so happened to find something I had been looking all over the place for at Kumoricon, but hadn't been able to find. Not only that, but I was told that I bought the only set they would be recieving from Japan.

Lidner tiem!

Allen Walker costume is still W.I.P. I need to improve the glove and apply the scar better next time.
