vacation...

Our vacation was just long enough for me to realize how badly I needed a break...but not long enough to want to go back to school this morning...ugh. Not ready yet!

It was great to see my 2 nephews and walk along the beach in NC...and to work leisurely on my Rose Tourney dress instead of squeezing it in after long days in lab.

My first Rose Tourney as a real live Rose was great! My team fought honorably and bravely, and were truly inspiring upon the field. A great surprise was that many of them joined in when I sang them Song of Roland...how wonderful that they were so prow, courteous, and well-rounded in the arts. I was very lucky! The event was set up beautifully, with a great big list, and a lovely pavilion for the Roses. Alaric set up our tent as a home base for the team, which was quite a luxury...we've never set up anything on the list field before, so this was the first time I didn't have to mooch off of other people's shade. Dancing in the evening was lots of fun, and I was impressed that so many squires showed up. Hoobah for you!

The next 2 weeks are going to be insane as I prepare to jump-start a project to present at a conference in Maine...and get ready for a committee meeting. I love NOWM, but I wish it was a month away instead of this weekend...I could really use the time in lab.

I took the Narnia quiz too! The part that I couldn't get to paste in said: "As Tumnus you may be a bit timid and shy. But you are conscientious, caring and friendly and respected by your friends. You hope to set a new trend with your cool beard." I am OK with everything except the beard--no thank you!
