UPDATE: After the breeder got a hold of me and the vet a decision was made. He was given some anti-biotics and some steroids and he ate some food and got some liquids in him. So we brought him home and he seems to be doing a lot better. The next 48hrs will tell how this is going to turn out. Send good thoughts his way folks :)

Well. I have horribly depressing news. After you all got a look at the adorable photos (even if they were fuzzy) then I believe you can understand how hard this is going to be. We took Dieter to the vet this morning and he's worse than we thought. He has a very serious infection in his nose and can't breathe through it. Which means he can't eat or drink, which means he's in pain. My options are a $3000 surgery that might not work or to euthanize him. I really can't afford the surgery, nor do I want to put him through all that when it might not even work. So within the hour I'm heading back to the clinic where they've been keeping him, to sign the permission papers.

I've been trying to contact the breeder all day without success. Now it's to the point where I can't wait too much longer, the clinic closes at 8pm. Wish me luck folks, this is gonna be hard. But things happen for a reason, right?
