couples_therapy: What do your friends think of your partner?

"He's too tall!" Lexie complains, climbing out of the closet and securing her arms around Claire's neck. She waits for Claire to set her down before her hands go to her hips and she stares up at both of them with a displeased pout. "I can't hide anywhere good, he finds me right away!"

Sam chuckles, giving a shrug while he begins to straight up the shelf of shirts that the little girl just trampled on. "Sorry Lexie," he says apologetically. He's still getting used to the whole idea of pretending not to notice when he finds her. It's for him not to pick her up, she's usually someplace where he's afraid she'll get hurt.

"Hide lower," Claire offers, lowering Lexie to her feet. "I hide under the bed and he never finds me." She pulls Lexie's ponytail out carefully and gathers her hair up again, twisting the elastic back into place once she gets it a little higher. Claire doesn't worry about Lexie getting hurt. Lexie has her ability and it keeps her safe, save for a few tears. But she's tougher than most girls her age, which is probably a good thing.

"Can't hide there now that you told Sam!" she sighs loudly, taking exaggerated footsteps until she gets to the doorway, where she stops and looks back to them. "Count to somethin' big. Thirdy. If you count to thirdy I'll find someplace good."

"Alright," Sam nods. "We'll count to thirty. Maybe even thirty five." He smirks, closing his eyes, and nudges Claire to do the same. "One...two...three...four..." After he hears her tiny footsteps start off in the opposite direction, he opens his eyes and leans in, pulling Claire into a kiss. "Three...four..."

"You seriously think I'm going to make out with you while Lexie is hiding?" she asks, "We promised her thirty seconds."

"Thirty seconds in kid time," he reasons. "In real time that's five minutes, at least. Not to mention the time we have to waste pretending to look for her..." Sam might not be good at hide and seek, but he knows how to kill time. He rubs the back of his neck and smirks down at Claire sheepishly. "You don't approve?"

"I never knew you planned these things," she teases. "You're devious sometimes. I kinda like it. You're striking out at first, but I like it." And she means every word of both her compliment and her warning.

"As long as you like it," he agrees. "I have a reputation to uphold. I'm the Antichrist."

"The Antichrist who got misty during the dance sequence in Enchanted. Some Antichrist you are."
