I Rocked My Ass Off With The Flaming Lips, and All I Got
was this awesome story and a crapload of free stuff.
Ok,so we (Justin, Lara and I) were hanging out at the concert near the backstage entrance when a guy dressed in a construction worker's uniform came out with passes. I heard that they put people on stage, but didn't realise they picked people from the audience. When we asked him for passes, he said, "I've got to make my round, but if there are still some left afterwards, you can have them." So we waited about five minutes, then I said "Fuck it, let's find this guy and get our passes." When we found him again, he said that we were, "Fuckin' dedicated" and gave us our passes. I was chosen to be in an inflatable suit, Justin was picked to be an Iron Man, and our friend Lara was to be a pink ninja. Well, 8:30 rolls around and we go to get our costumes and whatnot. Well, I was put into a Santa suit and then led onstage to dance around as such. The naked girls part came when the Flaming Lips did a cover of Song Remains the Same. This was because whenever Wayne heard the song, he imagined everyone, "Freaking out and just getting naked." All in all, best night of my fucking life. I don't think any concert experience can top this one. Oh, and I got Wayne and Steve to sign my wallet, and the Jokers card I had (all three of us had one).
In addition, I got: A free t-shirt, two stickers that are promotions for their upcoming movie Christmas on Mars, a chance to meet both Wayne and Steve, the chance to meet Josh Ritter and his band, a backstage pass currently placed on my backpack, and one hell of a story.
Personally, I don't think anyone can top my concert story, y'all can try, but y'all will fail.
