Saved for the second time...

I've written about Kenny Ritchie in the past. The latest news is that once again his conviction has been over turned as unsafe by US Court of Appeals. They made the same decision 2 and a half years ago, but the prosecution appealed, and the US Supreme Court ruled that the Appeal might not have been procedurally correct, so Kenny stayed on Death row.

Kenny's original conviction was unsafe on grounds of inadequate legal representation, and some pretty shoddy Fire Forensics. Add to that the Ohio State's prosecutor comment that even though he's probably innocent, justice had been served: "Even though this new evidence may establish Mr. Richey's innocence, the Ohio and United States Constitutions nonetheless allow him to be executed because the prosecution did not know that the scientific testimony offered at trial was false and unreliable."

Little wonder that there's be a large campaign for his release and/or retrial.

Perhaps finally this will be resolved.
