So unfortunately for the poor crape myrtle tree outside, I got a wild hair to prune. I took the dogs outside with me to walk up to the road to check the mail. As we walked back to the house, I saw the wildly overgrown crape myrtle, looking like an exploding pink tipped octopus next to our front porch. So why tonight of all nights did I go to the garage and take out the pruning shears? Who knows? So I finally stopped when it was too dark to really see. I removed the fallen branches to the pile in the woods where there are also grass clippings, etc. The remaining branches seemed to lift with the removed weight, and I kept saying to myself that I need to clip more. But I figured I did not want to traumatize the tree too badly, or end up with just a twig in the ground. I have read online that people go hog wild sometimes and commit "crape murder". I hope I am not one of those people. It was so overgrown that it was laying on our roof...I needed to cut it back.
Tomorrow is the 1st teacher workday. I went i today and moved everything in my classroom out to my new room in the "modular building"...I LOVE my new room. Its so cute! I am looking forward to getting it all set up and running. The desk tops are not as big as in the building...but we can work with that. All I have left to do is move the files from my filing cabinet. So the teacher who is in my old room has to just walk in and arrange her stuff. A long day, but well worth it.
So my Carmex loving dog was just routing in my purse pocket for more Carmex...got him yelled at. Poor baby...he is Velcro dog these days....and tomorrow I go back to work..
