is it safe to write in here? haha.

who cares, i have an hour left of work and nothing to do but update.

last week national geographic sent me an email. yep. they got my resume from someone and wanted my portfolio to put me into the pool of potential photo-editor interns for a new project they are doing called glimpse, which is a magazine of photos and literature from people who are abroad. i would be editing and tagging photos for their digital database as well as selecting images to put in the fall issue.

here is the problem. it is unpaid, and in washington dc. i would be paying out my ass to be living and working in washington, and only for a name on my resume. a great one, though. it would be the opportunity of a lifetime, but i'm not going to do it should i get the internship. i know that photo editing and that style of work is not what i want to do when i graduate, i love science too much and i want to keep it in my work. i know this. i also do not need a co-op this summer, since i was told i could have a relevant co-op next summer. theres a line where the name on the resume is worth the work and effort, but i don't think this one is. and i need to follow my heart. it is already enough for me to have been sought out by them.

so that is that, i guess. i don't think i am making a mistake, but i know some people will think i am. it's not your life.

i guess i'm done, because i am evidently not allowed to write in here about things going on in my life that pertain to other people.
