Congrats Barack Obama on a successful inauguration. While I am inclined to be suspicious about politicians who promise a lot, I am willing to give you a chance. Please, please do a good job.
Also concerning the inauguration: I couldn't understand nearly a word Aretha Franklin was singing; also, her voice was all over the place, and that bow was hugely distracting. Obama's speech was good, very moving and hopeful--much like JFK's own inauguration speech, I think (if I remember correctly). Elizabeth Alexander's poem was alright, but her reading needs work. And that last pastor...he was...interesting. I couldn't understand a word he said and only started paying attention near the end, when he apparently made a very racist joke. \(o_o)/
All in all, a very interesting inauguration. I heard there were about 2-3, maybe 5 million people there? Wow. Just WOW.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
I've been very busy lately, cracking down on scholarships. Most are essays, but there's a couple art projects thrown in that have slowed me down.
Here's a recent poster I did:
I don't like how it turned out all that well. I was kind of rushed though, but still, the concept looked so much better in my head. But I think that's how it is for a lot of other people, so I don't feel so alone.
Also, I think the patron-'Good Samaritan'-dude looks like Hetalia's Germany. You see how pervasive that series is. I love it.
But yeah. Scholarships. I've gotta pay for college or I'll be in debt for a looong while. Why does in-state have to be so friggin' expensive? (Granted, it's a technical school, but still...)
And now that Napolitano's off to D.C. as Sec. of Homeland Security, we've got Jan Brewer coming in to take over as governor; problem is, she doesn't support education as much as our former governor. And Arizona's got ENORMOUS debts...and, of course, the first place to make cuts is education (Which makes NO sense). So tuition's gonna rise, for sure. >__>

On a final note, I am working on your commission,
mithrigil. Got a thumbnail sketch worked out. Will try to get on Photoshop in the near future. *sweats* As soon as I get a couple essays done, and a poster for another art contest hosted by my college...then I'll be free for another month or two. I'll definitely try not to keep you waiting that long for your picture, though. ^__^
That's all that's been goin' on over on my side. I hope everyone's doing well. :D
