Rant #2: Employment
Well, not really a rant (however, it's still a very disjointed post) as I'm not really raging at any machine, tilting at any windmill, o/~ climb every mountain! Ford every stream! o/~ Oh, where was I? Another thing that's been on my mind lately, though, is my employment situation.
I believe I mentioned here before that my current work place will be closing up shop relatively soon. I was recently given a date in that between mid-February and the end of June they'll be moving our jobs down to the new Atlanta centre, one department at a time. So, whenever our department comes up to be moved, whether it's closer to February or June, that's when we get our parting gifts. Not really set in stone, but more precise than nothing I suppose.
I've thought that I should start looking for work, though, despite my not knowing when I'd be able to start (and have even applied to a few places, but been turned down at all so far). Main problem is that I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I know I'm at the stage of my life where I'm about done with "job"s, I really want a "career". But doing what? And, more precisely, doing what that will actually get me hired? Something I have to work on, but a bit unsettling.
Such is life.
