Hello All

This is completely new to me. After seeing the amazing Doctor Who journals I had to join. I love to meet new people and I LOVE to talk about Doctor Who (I'm obsessed). So yeah...

Hey. :) Glad to see someone new on LJ.

The good news is the most active communities I follow on LJ are Doctor Who communities. :D These are the ones I always see posting:

doctor_rose_fix - Every day one of their mods posts a quote or image or video (anything) about the Doctor and Rose and sometimes it spawns discussion. (I love discussion. Haha.)

then_theres_us - Lots and lots of good Doctor/Rose fan fiction posted often, sometimes as responses to prompts.

dwrewatch - Scheduled rewatches and discussions of the entire new series of Doctor Who (i.e. from 2005 on).

the_altverse - A fan-written "series" of Doctor Who in Pete's World, with Rose and human Ten traveling in the TARDIS and having their own adventures after Journey's End. I believe season 1 is done but they're planning on writing a season 2.

Two users whose personal journals talk about Doctor Who a lot: kilodalton sometimes, but especially _thirty2flavors, who also writes really good fan fiction. The comment threads on her journal make me laugh so hard sometimes, oh man.

kilodalton I think is friend-locked, so you'd have to get her to add you to see ( ... )

You are so amazing. Now I love you XD This has been my absolute obsession lately. Although last night I did start watching Secret Diary of a Call Girl and I'm LOVING it so far.

Oh, I haven't ever seen Secret Diary of a Call Girl. I've wanted to watch it but I could never catch it on and I was too lazy to track down the episodes online. I really like Billie Piper, though. She looks so normal to me (maybe because she looks like she could be related to me, and I never see women who look like that on American TV).

Maybe I'll watch it soon so we can talk about that. :D

It's pretty great. She's a fantastic actress. It's actually done really tastefully for being a show about prostitutes.

So I was just rewatching Series One and noticed something I hadn't before. Nine calls Mickey 'Ricky'... isn't that what Mickey's name is in the parallel world? Mickey says I think i know my own name, and Nine says something like you think.

Yep, Nine calls him Ricky and then it turns out there really is a Ricky. No one knows if that's supposed to mean that the Doctor knew about Ricky or if it's just a coincidence. :D

I've seen like two clips of Secret Diary, and in both of them I think she was breaking up with someone. Haha.

Well I'm a few episodes in to season 4. Also started Torchwood, cause who doesn't love a little Jack Harkness? British television is so much better than American. The culture is so intensely different. It's brilliant.

Torchwood is weird, it's not all that much like Doctor Who. I liked first season best but I guess it's worth watching it all. (I haven't seen the newest U.S. season that aired on Starz, though, except for the first episode. Bill Pullman! So weird.)

I love Jack Harkness but I prefer him on Doctor Who to how he is on Torchwood. I'm not exactly sure why that is.

It's the relationship between the Doctor and Jack that makes him so much better. Did you see the ComicCon video of John and David kissing? It cracked me up. he was like.. this is what i've always wanted. I miss Russell T. Davies.
