Heath

Okay, he wasn't my favorite actor. I'm not even sure I have one. However, if someone like, let's say, Anne Rice died, I'd be devastated. I'd probably be shocked for days. Understandable, since she is one of the few people I really idolize.

That's why the shock and the feeling of loss that came over me when I heard about Heath Ledger's death was a big surprise. Sure, I liked him as an actor. Who could ever forget his painful, tormented Ennis in Brokeback Mountain? Or his corny-but-still-works-singing in 10 Things I Hate About You? But he wasn't the best for me, and although I am excited to see his turn as The Joker, I can't say that I idolized him.

I thought about it for a while. I wanted to know what could've brought this feeling of...sadness and loss in me. And then I realized that Heath Ledger is the first actor that I am really familiar with who passed away young, in a totally unexpected way. He is the first actor of my generation who died this way. I've heard of a lot of actors who died suddenly. I thought, though, that it was a thing of the past and people would be smarter now. I didn't think it could happen to anyone today.

I don't know if my post makes sense. Basta, I feel sad. That's all.
