I'm so glad you decided to make a post on here. I was tempted to yesterday, but I thought, "Nah, forget it. Maybe if no one posts anything by tomorrow."

Overall, I thought the finale was OK, but it could have been so much better, and I definitely wasn't as excited about it as a lot of people. I mean, I was alright with Korra getting her bending back at the end at first, but the whole process really is another deus ex machina, which was one of my major gripes about the A:TLA finale. And it really was rushed, like Mike and Bryan just realized they only had twelve episodes and needed to cram as much stuff as possible. As I've said in other places, they had about two years to work out their story; theoretically, there was no reason why they couldn't tell a well-paced, cohesive story in that amount of time.

And what do you know, the last minute pairing is another issue I had with both the A:TLA finale and the LoK finale. The "relationship" between Mako and Korra came out so much worse; I guess they look good together, but there was hardly any development between them, and part of me is hoping they'll pull something like Young Justice where the two of them are broken up by season two. The only thing I'll give them is that at least seeing them kiss did not make me cringe like the final kiss between Katara and Aang, but I have to chalk that up to the age of the characters, and that's it. And no, I don't think he flat out broke up with Asami at any point; she really got jipped, and I feel terrible for her character. I really wish the romance stuff was cut out all together so that other issues could've been explored (Like the issue between benders and non-benders. Anyone remember that over there?)

I do love that some people over on Tumblr are slowly realizing that Mike and Bryan aren't the greatest writers in the world. It's nice to read some good critiques over there.

Sorry, some of my thoughts seem disconnected, and there's a few more things I wanted to say that I can't quite put into words. In the end, I liked The Legend of Korra, but a lot of my excitement died out at some point after episode six. I tried keeping my expectations low, but I really wanted this show to be excellent. =/
