Allright…
All the Oil leaks that were popping up in my car MAY have been because the valve cover wasn’t screwed down right.
My brother in-law helped me with the bolts in the valve cover and there a bolt or two missing for some reason (You know the old fall under that car and disappear routine?) and I THOUGHT I was only missing one bolt.
So I drove to Wal-Mart and back a couple of times and was dumping oil like crazy down the cars through, and one day I noticed the back of the valve cover was leaking some really fresh looking oil.
I looked closer and sure enough there was no bolt on the back. Now as for WHY there was no bolt, weather it jiggled loose, or weather it was just missing in general I couldn’t say.
The GOOD news about all this mess is it only LOOKED like the oil was from the Gasket between the Tranny and the moter and after closer looking it was just a small area that you had to get at a funny angle to see, but when you saw it, it was like SUPER OBVIOUS!
So I got some new bolts and now it’s all good and tight and no harm was done to the moter because I chugged oil into it, so it all SHOULD be good.
I just get REALLY nervous I’ve never had an older car last very long, and as much as I would LOVE to see this one last AT LEAST a year or two some times reality sometimes doesn’t agree with what I want.
Other wise I’d still be driving the Camaro I had before The Explorer.
