Best Battle of the Bands EVER

So last night was the battle of the bands. And might i say that it was frickin amazing. I think this is the best show i've been to in awhile and it just so happens that i put on the show. But the show started off rocky because most of the bands were late. And there were more problems during the show but they got worked out after the second band. But the first band that played was freaking amazing and they were Far & Fading (www.farandfading.com).  I bought one of their shirts cause they were awesome.  Next No Ima stepped up and took forever to set up and all that jazz so we had to cut them short but they were an instrumental band rock band from Delaware.  They were ok but took too long settin up.  Next stepped up Torn From Red (www.tornfromred.cjb.net)  and they did what the first part of their name says they torn it up.  They sound a lot like beloved with less screaming but they lead singer has an amazing voice and their guitars are blazin.  Freakquency was next and they were ok but this was their first gig so it was a little shaky at times but they covered Switchfoot so i was ok with them.  Then 19 Crew (www.19crew.com) stepped up to the proverbial plate and rocked the crowd with their sound, not all too different than the roots.  The crowd was lovin it. They got the crowd hyped.  Finally, most amazing show i've seen in awhile, The Mint (www.tastethemint.com) played.  They had called me about an hour before the show and said that their bassist was not coming cause he had poison oak all over his face and body.  So, they were going to play an acoustic show.  Wow, let me just tell you, I can't put into words how awesome they were. The keyboard player used the baby grand we have on the stage and it sounded amazing. Their sound is what luk eccles pointed out as "the starting line but less pop."  I would agree.  They could have played for hours and i would have been ok with it.  But we had to cut them off so we could judge, but guess who won.  They did so they came back out and play about 4 more songs for the crowd of about 200 people in the auditorium.  The Mint won the first prize of 100 bucks in the form of a Sam Ash gift certificate, 19 crew was second and they took home a 50 buck gift certificate from Sam Ash, third was Torn From Red, Freakquency, then Far & Fading, and finally No Ima.  Thanks to all came out and made the show a success.  I advise you guys to listen to the bands i've suggested they rock.

Peace,
BAMA
