I watched part of a documentery on the History Channel last night called "The Exodus Decoded". This is why I smile when people ask me (since I am a History major) if I like to watch that station's programming. The short answer is that about half of what you see on that channel these days is total bunk, about of another 3rd of the material has terrible methodology and the rest of the stuff is really good. The problem is that it is difficult to determine the credibility of the source material when you are watching something on TV.

I only ask one thing of people who set out to prove the Bible is true: Don't play free and loose with the facts. In the long run, this is a really bad strategy. But for a myriad of reasons society does not value the long term result. Everything is about the short term.
