Yongguk couldn't sleep. No matter how many times he tried to go to sleep, he just couldn't. The only thing he could do was go to the studio and try to do a couple of tracks for some songs he had in mind. This wasn't the first time something like this happened. For some reason, he could never get to sleep at all, no matter what methods his company or the trainees or the Secret members suggested. He could feel himself getting exhausted, feels his eyes droop from not getting any sleep, but he could still not get any sleep.
Insomnia is a bitch and he hates it.
So here he is again, in the studio, with day nine of being sleep deprived. Yongguk rubbed his tired eyes awake and groaned. He feels so drained and so exhausted that it's beginning to show through his work. At least he understood those tumblr posts that he used to read when he used to have a tumblr. He hasn't slept and he's pretty sure he saw a rainbow cat talking to him.
"Yongguk?" the rainbow cat called out.
"Yes talking cat?" Yongguk asked.
"Yongguk are you okay?" the rainbow cat disappeared. Yongguk turned around and saw Jongup standing by the doorway.
"Sorry. I haven't slept for the past few days," he said.
"How come you haven't been sleeping?" Jongup asked him.
"I don't know. Every time I try to sleep, my body won't let me. I toss and turn and I just… I just can't sleep," Yongguk answered.
Jongup pouted and sat down in one of the chairs next to Yongguk.
"Did you ever look up why you're having trouble sleeping? Like, maybe you're really stressed, or you keep thinking of something and that's why you can't sleep. There are many studies as to why you can't sleep," Jongup offered.
"I tried. I googled insomnia to figure it out, but I turned up with nothing," he said.
Jongup pursed his lips and thought about it. He grabbed the leader's hand and led him towards his shared dorm with Himchan.
"What are you doing?" Yongguk asked him.
Jongup said nothing and entered inside the room. Himchan was already sleeping, with one foot off the bed and another practically cramped against the wall. Jongup got into his own bed and motioned for Yongguk to sleep beside him.
"Jongup, what's your intent on doing this?" Yongguk whispered, trying to make sure he doesn't wake up the visual.
"I heard that sometime people would only sleep if someone was sleeping beside them," Jongup said. "We can either test that out or you can have hallucinations of the talking hamster you were talking about earlier."
"It was a cat," Yongguk muttered, crawling into Jongup's bed and resting on the pillow. Jongup's bed was completely small and cramped from all the crap that was in it.
Yongguk pulled the covers over their bodies and tried to get comfortable. He closed his eyes, but the same restlessness still appeared in his body. He then felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist and felt a warm body against his back. He turned his body around and saw Jongup looking at him.
"What were you doing up?" Yongguk blurted out.
"I was thirsty, so I went to get a glass of water. I saw the light in your 'studio' and decided what you were doing. I knew you were having sleeping problems, but I didn't think they were this bad," he answered.
Yongguk said nothing and curled up against Jongup. He was so tired and he just wanted to sleep. He wrapped his arms around Jongup's waist, which prompted for Jongup to rest his hands against his chest. Jongup quickly fell asleep and had his head resting against Yongguk's chest. Yongguk ran his fingers through the younger's hair and watched his breathing even. He felt his eyes droop. He closed his eyes and finally let the dreams surround him.
